Under pinning, mini piles
Underpinning with Mini Piles is the process of strengthening the foundation of an existing building or structure. Underpinning may be necessary for a variety of reasons:
- 1-The original foundation is simply not strong or stable enough.
- 2-The usage of the structure has changed.
- 3-The properties of the soil supporting the foundation may have changed (possibly through subsidence) or were mischaracterized during design.
- 4-To increase the depth or load capacity of existing foundations to support the addition of another story to the building (above or below grade).

Soil nailing is a construction technique that can be used as a remedial measure to treat unstable natural soil slopes or used to stabilize retaining walls.
